Aqua Class Descriptions
Aquarobics – A great way to start or end your day! This 45 minute water class
includes a cardiovascular segment followed by muscle toning and flexibility.
Aqua Tai Chi (Ai Chi) - Enjoy the many benefits of slow, relaxed movement with focused
breathing in our warm pool to increase flexibility, strength, and energy
while reducing joint stiffness as blood flow increases. This breathing
and movement can reduce symptoms of anxiety, fatigue and depression, and
can have a beneficial effect on those with chronic pain, arthritis, COPD,
diabetes and balance impairments. All fitness levels welcome.
Aqua Tone – This 45-minute, low impact, moderate-intensity aquarobics class
focuses on building endurance, toning muscle, increasing flexibility and
FUN. This class seeks to challenge participants while utilizing floatation
belts to avoid the jarring associated with normal toning classes.
Aqua Yoga – This 40-minute class combines dynamic flowing movements and traditional
yoga poses with the assistance of water to help lengthen and strengthen
muscles, while also improving balance, coordination, and range of motion.
Aqua yoga is anti-gravity, as the water will provide resistance making
your muscles work harder while also allowing your joints to be supported.
Aqua yoga is a soothing experience and is ideal for all fitness levels.
Gentle Waves – This class incorporates gentle movements and range of motion exercises
in the water. A fun and therapeutic class for individuals who are new
to exercise, suffer from arthritis or have orthopedic limitations.
Private Swim Lessons for infants ages 6 months to adults (additional fee)
Benefits of the Pool and Aquatic Exercise
The pool at Fitness Plus maintains an ideal temperature of 88° F for
individuals suffering from Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and orthopedic issues.
We also offer an ADA chair lift and wide entry staircase for individuals
with limitations. Exercising in the water increases your heart rate and
breathing rate while burning fat and promotes improved balance and coordination.

dumbbells, noodles and balls can also be used to enhance your strength
training in the water.
