Peter Lipscomb, MD

Dr. Peter M. Lipscomb is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care and surgical treatment of eye conditions. He provides thorough eye examinations and prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, manages glaucoma with medical and laser therapies, and treats external eye diseases. Dr. Lipscomb also performs anterior segment surgery, including small incision and laser-assisted cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants, as well as pterygium surgery.

He is affiliated with Catawba Valley Medical Center and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, North Carolina Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Dr. Lipscomb completed his medical degree at Georgetown University, his internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, and his residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
