Mark Katz, MD

Dr. Mark A. Katz is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity care, including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, nerve compression syndromes, arthritis, sports injuries, and complex hand, wrist, and forearm trauma. He is experienced in minimally invasive procedures, such as the Tenex procedure for tendinopathies, and advanced microvascular techniques, including free vascularized fibular grafting for hip osteonecrosis.

Dr. Katz earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He has over 20 years of experience as a specialist, previously practicing in San Antonio, Texas, and has held academic appointments teaching Hand Surgery Fellows and residents.

Dr. Katz has also consulted on the design of orthopaedic implants for distal radius fractures and regularly participates in instructional workshops for surgeons. He combines extensive surgical expertise with a patient-centered approach, offering advanced care for both routine and complex upper extremity conditions.
