Katie was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Western Carolina University and majored in Social Work with a minor in Women’s Studies. She then obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Charlotte, eventually becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She worked as a Clinical Social Worker until 2016 when she left her 8 year career to attend the first class of the Physician Assistant Program at Lenoir Rhyne University. She graduated in 2018 and has worked in Emergency Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, until deciding to transition to Family Medicine. She is married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family on the lake, competitive fitness competitions, and golf.
