I specialize in minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic-assisted spine surgery, revision spine surgical care, complex spinal disorders, alternatives to bony fusion including disc replacement, fracture care, bone health, and sacroiliac (SI) joint disease. I have a wealth of experience and a passion for returning patients to function through the careful utilization of non-surgical spine treatment strategies combined with the appropriate, evidence-based application of surgical interventions, when necessary. For the past 6 years, I have been practicing in upstate NY. In that time my wife and I have had 3 boys, ages 1, 3, and 5. We love spending time outside and traveling. We are so excited to relocate to North Carolina and although we made many great relationships there, we will not miss the long snowy winters.
Dr. Popper treats patients the way he treats his own family. He believes in trying conservative therapies first and utilizing non-surgical treatments as much as possible. When surgery is necessary, he is focused on providing the least invasive and safest procedures. Dr. Popper is experienced in the most modern advancements including minimally invasive techniques, robotic spine surgery, computer-navigated spine surgery and motion-preserving operations. He is trained in spinal trauma, reconstruction and deformities, such as scoliosis. He is experienced in cervical spine surgery, laminectomies, discectomies, fusions and artificial disc replacements.
