Dr. Barber completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University and went to medical school at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He completed his postgraduate training at University of California, Davis and Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco. This included his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He then returned to University of California, Davis to complete his fellowship in Endocrinology. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Barber joined an Endocrinology practice in Santa Rosa, California from 1990 to 1999. In 1999 he and his family relocated to Hickory where he joined Piedmont Endocrinology. He enjoys biking, snow and water skiing
