It started as a controversial idea in 1962. Building a hospital to serve the needs of the most vulnerable citizens, a place where no one was turned away. Over the past 50 years, more than two million patients have graced the halls of this community hospital. And the great public debate spawned a respected medical center that has evolved into a leading institution with a single purpose…to improve health.
On October 15, 2017, CVMC will have proudly cared for this community for 50 years. To commemorate this milestone event, CVMC invites you to celebrate with them at the Community Open House on October 25. Free guided walking tours will be offered to every 10 minutes beginning at 10:10am through 2pm ending with refreshments in AHEC 112. Tours do require registration, so be sure to secure your space by registering online or calling 828.326.3062.
Follow along as CVMC plans to post on Facebook throughout the week of October 23 – 27 under the #CVMC50 hashtag, featuring nostalgic pictures and historic facts.
