HICKORY, NC – Catawba Valley Health System (CVHS) has announced a full partnership with all Urgent Care of Mountain View (UCMV) locations. The locations are being branded as Catawba Urgent Care of Mountain View.
Previously, CVHS partnered with Urgent Care of Mountain View to open two locations in 2025, in Sherrills Ford and in the Belle Hollow shopping center in the Viewmont section of North Hickory. Newly added locations are Morganton, Newton, Mountain View, and soon in Taylorsville.
“This move will provide numerous access points to our health system as customers may need services that go beyond what an urgent care can provide,” said Dennis Johnson, president and CEO of Catawba Valley Health System. “Examples include primary care practices in our medical group, hospital services, greater connectivity with specialists, advanced imaging, and pharmacy access, among others. We’re extremely happy to add these remaining locations to the CVHS family.”
Johnson added that expansion into Urgent Care is a key part of the health system’s growth strategy. He also noted that increased accessibility to these Urgent Care locations could ease the strain on the Emergency Department when non-life-threatening medical needs still require timely same-day medical attention.
Mariane Carna, president of Catawba Valley Medical Group, echoed the strategic importance of the partnership, saying, “Catawba Valley Health System and Urgent Care of Mountain View are fully aligned in recognizing urgent care as a key area for growth. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality care for the communities we serve.”
Urgent Care of Mountain View has been providing fast, affordable, and professional care with a personal touch to the Mountain View community since 2011 and has four existing locations in Hickory, Morganton, Newton, and Taylorsville. Specializing in the treatment of illnesses and injuries, they offer comprehensive Occupational Medicine and Workers’ Compensation services including drug screens, X-rays, DOT physicals, TB testing, and more, supporting both small and large businesses alike.
