Catawba Valley Cardiology Welcomes Three New Providers

Catawba Valley Medical Group (CVMG) has announced the arrival of three new providers at Catawba Valley Cardiology. Michael Cantor, DO, Sanjay Patel, MD, and Marissa Hyatt, NP, joined the practice in August.

Dr. Cantor is a general and interventional cardiologist who has been in practice for over 20 years. He completed his medical training at the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to do his internal medicine residency at St Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, before moving to Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, to complete his training in General and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Patel specializes in providing preventive cardiology and has a special interest in treating congestive heart failure, hypertension, arrythmias, and other cardiac conditions. He was raised in London, England, and attended the Medical School of Pécs in Hungary. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology, both at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. He is board certified in both cardiology and nuclear cardiology and is a certified registered physician in vascular interpretation.

Hyatt began her career in nursing while earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care from the University of Texas at Arlington and received board certification in February 2019. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, she has been practicing in cardiology specialty clinics in North and South Carolina.

Catawba Valley Cardiology is located at 3521 Graystone Place SE, in Conover.
