Our physicians bring extensive medical knowledge to the Catawba Valley to diagnose, treat and manage disorders of the brain and nervous system. These disorders can be complex ranging from strokes and headaches to epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and more. Using their technical knowledge, compassionate communication skills and diagnostic tests, our team of physicians often discovers the right diagnosis to create effective treatment plans for their patients.

Gaurang Palikh, MD
Dr. Gaurang Palikh began his academic journey at Furman University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and was a member of the cross-country team. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his neurology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

As Medical Director of Catawba Valley Neurology, Dr. Palikh brings more than 15 years of experience in providing comprehensive, patient-centered neurological care. A board-certified neurologist, he is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the North Carolina Medical Society. His leadership emphasizes compassionate care, innovative treatment approaches, and collaboration across the healthcare system to ensure patients receive the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Palikh is a published physician and advocate for patients, having traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers and promote policies that advance neurological health and bring down barriers that prevent access to care.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Palikh enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, running, skiing, and gardening
