Our providers Physician Assistant Brad Lawrence, Family Nurse Practitioner Tanya Dyer, and Nurse Practitioner Matt Seagle welcome you to their family medicine practice. After-Hours Physician
To speak with a Catawba Valley Medical Group provider afterhours, please call: 828.324.0258. This service provides direct access to the on-call provider, not a triage phone line, to increase access to care and is intended for medical questions or concerns. Please call 911 if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Weekend After-Hours Care:
The convenience of extended office hours is provided by Catawba Valley Urgent Care - Maiden to all Catawba Valley Medical Group patients on Saturdays 9am – 1pm. Click here for more information.

Patient Portal:

Our Providers

Brad Lawrence, PA-C

NCQA Regocnition

Brad was born and raised in Northern California. He graduated from Willamette University in Oregon with a degree in Business Economics. He worked in Medical Product Sales for six years then moved to North Carolina where he received his Physician Assistant Degree from Wake Forest University Medical School. He then moved to Hickory, NC in 1995 and worked in Cardiothoracic Surgery for almost 10 years at Frye Regional Medical Center. He moved into Urgent Care and the Emergency Room before going into Internal Medicine. He is the founder of Parkway Internal Medicine which has been open since 2009. He is board certified and has advanced training in Lipidology. He also developed and runs a successful Medical Weight Loss program. He has a true passion towards educating his patients. Preventing diseases and the complications of these diseases, with a special interest in preventing heart attacks and strokes. He lives in Hickory, and enjoys fishing, dirt bikes, boating and camping.

Tanya Dyer, MSN, FNP-C

Tanya studied Nursing at Presbyterian Nursing School in Charlotte, NC and graduated with a diploma Nursing Degree in 1991. She continued to work at Presbyterian Hospital for 3 years on the Cancer Unit. She continued her nursing career at an outpatient cancer clinic in Gastonia for the next 4 years. She then went to work with Hospice of Lincoln County. During that time she completed her BSN at UNC-Charlotte in 1998. Her career changed and she began teaching nursing at Gaston College. She completed her MSN-FNP-C at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC in 2007. She then started her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is now currently enrolled at Clemson University to obtain her Doctorate of Nurse Practice. She has one son and one daughter who keep her very busy. She enjoys running, reading, sports and working in her yard. She stays involved in her community and church. She loves being a Nurse Practitioner and enjoys coming to work everyday.

Matt Seagle, NP

Prior to receiving his Master of Science degree at Gardner-Webb University to become a Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner, Matt attended East Carolina University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. His goal as a primary care provider is to develop relationships with patients and their families to improve their overall health and happiness. When he is away from work, he enjoys golfing, hiking, and motorsports as well as spending time with his wife Amber and their three children.
