Our providers Dr. Mark Faruque, Dr. Cody Wingler, and Hannah Hefner, PA-C, welcome you to their family medicine practice. The top priority of our providers and staff is helping you and your loved ones prevent illness and maintain physical and emotional well-being by providing medical care and recommending healthy lifestyle choices. Our practice manages acute and chronic illnesses, treats acute injuries, performs minor office surgeries and, when necessary, refers you to an appropriate specialist. CVFM – Bethlehem utilizes an Advanced Care Team model. Advanced Care team members support the Primary Care Provider in efforts to deliver effective patient centered care. ​

After-Hours Physician
To speak with a Catawba Valley Medical Group provider afterhours, please call: (828) 732-5680. This service provides direct access to the on-call provider, not a triage phone line, to increase access to care and is intended for medical questions or concerns. Please call 911 if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Weekend After-Hours Care:
The convenience of extended office hours is provided by Catawba Valley Urgent Care - Maiden to all Catawba Valley Medical Group patients on Saturdays 9am – 1pm. Click here for more information.

Patient Portal:

Patients Age 13-17 will not have access to the Patient Portal effective 10/1/2022.

Dr. Faruque is married to classmate, Dr. Laura Faruque and together they have three grown children; Rachel, Nick and Tyler. Dr. Faruque enjoys any outdoor activity such as golfing, camping, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and motorcycle riding.

Cody Wingler, MD

Dr. Cody Wingler has been a lifelong resident of Alexander County. He was born in Taylorsville, grew up in Hiddenite, and now lives in Bethlehem with his wife and their two children. He enjoys running any distance from 5ks to Ultra Marathons. He serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Hickory and sings on the praise team. He went to the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed residency at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Areas of clinical expertise and interest include chronic disease management (diabetes, high blood pressure), preventative care, as well as Sports Medicine (including joint injection). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Hannah Hefner, PA-C

Hannah is a lifelong Alexander County resident who grew up in the Bethlehem community and now resides in the Wittenburg community with her husband and three young children. She attended Montreat college for her undergraduate degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences and Chemistry. She later attended Wingate University and completed her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She has been a Family Medicine Physician Assistant for the past 8 years.

She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, swimming, doing DIY projects, and playing with her 2 dogs. Hannah says, “I am committed to continuing the healthcare excellence that has been the standard before me. I will continue to follow a calling to serve this community and am dedicated to push for the health and well- being for all of my community members.”

Her special interests are pediatrics, women’s health and weight management treatment.
