HICKORY, NC – April 6, 2017 – Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) recently announced the appointment
of Dr. George Zoret as Medical Director of its
Occupational Health Center (OHC). Dr. Zoret joins Physician Assistant Phil Killian, Nurse Manager Kim Pennell,
ADN and Practice Director, Debbie Leger, RN to offer comprehensive services
to local business partners that want to improve the health, safety and
productivity of their employees.
Dr. Zoret received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill School of Medicine attending as a recipient of a full academic
scholarship as a Morehead Medical Fellow. He has been in practice for
more than 30 years, is board-certified and residency-trained in both Occupational
Medicine and Preventative Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American
College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), which is the
largest medical society dedicated to promoting the health of workers through
preventative medicine, clinical care, research and education.

Dr. Zoret adds, “Our work represents many types of industries including

Dr. Zoret recently moved to the Hickory area from Georgia. He is an accomplished
bass soloist who also enjoys cycling, sailing and the Argentine Tango.
