Start Walking for Better Health

Sticking to New Year’s resolutions can be tough, especially if it involves a commitment towards a healthier lifestyle. What better way to start that commitment than on your feet making strides alongside a doctor to help your heart and improve your general health to live longer at CVMC’s monthly Walk With A Doc event?

Walk With a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.

Why walk?

  • It improves blood pressure and blood sugar levels
  • It helps maintain a healthy body weight and lowers the risk of obesity
  • It enhances mental well-being
  • It reduces the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, breast and colon cancer and Type 2 diabetes.

Plan now to meet at the CVMC Fitness Plus track on the third Thursday of every month (weather permitting) to walk with physicians, public health champions and neighbors! The program is FREE and open to the public. Health screenings, resources, giveaways, raffle prizes and speakers will support all of us in getting healthier together.

Our online calendar now has the ability to add any of our events directly to your personal calendar. Check it out here so you’ll be sure to never miss out on a Walk With a Doc event.
