HICKORY, NC – July 27, 2015 — Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) today names Alan Keys, MD
as the Medical Director for its
Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbarics.
Dr. Keys is a board certified surgeon with the American College of Surgeons
and is a certified wound care speciality by Healogics, the nation’s
largest provider of advanced wound care services. He earned his Doctor
of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and completed
his residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA in 1990 before
entering private practice in North Wilkesboro, NC .
“We look forward to the expertise and experience Dr. Keys brings
to our wound care team,” said Liane Schubring, BSN, MBA/MHA, Director
of CVMC Center for Wound Healing. “As our medical director, he will
work hand in hand with community physicians in a collaborative approach
to develop comprehensive care plans for patients with chronic wounds.
Our program is based on a multi-disciplinary approach with surgeons, emergency
physicians and podiatrists on rotating schedules to see patients in the
clinic.”
Services offered at the wound center range from regularly treating and
dressing wounds to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. To schedule an appointment
