HICKORY, NC – July 14, 2014– Catawba Valley Medical Group (CVMG) announced today that Jeff Neal,
DO, PharmD has joined the experienced team of practitioners at Catawba
Valley Cardiology in Conover, NC.
Previously with OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio and The Carilion Clinic in
Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Neal earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Medical
College of Virginia and a Doctor of Osteopathy from Virginia College of
Osteopathic Medicine. In Hopewell, VA, Dr. Neal founded RX Service, a
long-term care pharmacy that he managed from 1999 until 2003. The University
of Appalachia School of Pharmacy invited him to be a guest lecturer in
2007 to speak about acute coronary syndromes.
“Dr. Neal joins our growing staff of cardiology specialists including
Dr. Brian Steg, Dr. Derek Luney, Dr. Luke Byrnes, Dr. James Ritter, Lisa
Michel PA-C and Sara Paul, DNP, FNP,” said Brian McGinnis, CVMG
Executive Director. “ With a combined 110+ years of experience,
this team offers patients a range of services including general cardiology,
peripheral interventions, pacemaker implantation and interventional cardiology.”
In addition to receiving numerous academic honors and professional achievements,
Dr. Neal earned a National Service Award for Hurricane Katrina Medical
Relief presented by the U.S. Surgeon General and received the U.S. Army
Basic Camp Order of Merit Award at Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1990. Dr. Neal
has been deployed nine times to fight fires in various Western and Midwestern
states as part of his involvement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture
Western United States Wildland Firefighter organization.
