“This event opens up our modern facilities to the public, and community
members can stop-in and talk with Cardiologists and staff members,”
said Derek Luney, M.D. “We invite everyone to take a moment and
drop by March 5 to see what’s available in the community. Catawba
Valley Cardiology is not only a practice that provides innovative care
solutions, but we take the time to listen to and get to know our patients.”
Tours of the new Cardiology offices will be offered and Cardiologists will
be on hand to greet visitors. Free blood pressure checks and heart healthy
refreshments will be provided, and raffles will be held. An Echo Tech
will also be available to discuss echocardiogram tests, which is a sonogram
that creates an image of the heart, used in the diagnosis and treatment
of heart disease.
Business owners and managers will have the chance to tour Catawba Valley
Medical Center’s Occupational Health Center. The Center works with
employers throughout the Catawba Valley region to treat work-related injuries.
The facility is home to Al Osbahr, M.D., who is one of the first certified
DOT examiners in the region. Dr. Osbahr and his staff will welcome guests
and be available to answer questions.
“This open house is an occasion for the business community to come
and see what we have to offer,” said Osbahr. “I would specifically
encourage employers of truck drivers to drop by and meet with our staff,
as upcoming changes in the DOT medical exam requirements are going to
drastically impact your business.”
