HICKORY, NC – Catawba Valley Family Medicine – Viewmont is
pleased to announce Mary Ference-Valenta, DO, has achieved the Degree
of Fellow through the American Academy of Family Physicians. The Degree
of Fellow recognizes AAFP members who have distinguished themselves among
their colleagues, as well as in their communities, by their service to
family medicine, their advancement of health care and their professional
development through medical education and research.

Dr. Ference-Valenta joined Viewmont Family Practice in February of this
year and is board certified in family medicine. After graduating from
the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed an internship
at Saint Vincent Medical Center followed by a residency at The Toledo
Hospital. Prior to joining the staff at Viewmont, Dr. Ference-Valenta
served the medical director at Portage County Child Health Services in
Ravenna, Ohio, and worked in private-practice. In addition to the American
Academy of Family Physicians, she is also a member of the American College
of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, the American Medical Association,
and the American Osteopathic Association.
