Catawba Valley Medical Center is a 258-bed, not-for-profit community hospital based in Hickory, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the state’s Western Piedmont area. The hospital serves the majority of the surrounding Catawba Valley, including Catawba, Alexander, Caldwell, Burke, Iredell and Lincoln counties. Catawba Valley Medical Center is conveniently located just off Interstate 40 at exit 128 at 810 Fairgrove Church Road SE.

Directions from Charlotte Douglas International Airport-Charlotte NC, to Catawba Valley Medical Center-Hickory NC

  1. From airport take exit toward I-85 (this puts you on Billy Graham Parkway)-travel about 5 miles/15 minutes.
  2. From the Parkway take I-85 South.
  3. Follow 85 South to Gastonia (approximately 40 minutes to 321 exit).
  4. In Gastonia take exit for 321 North.
  5. Follow 321 North to I-40 east to Hickory (approximately 30 minutes).
  6. Travel I-40 east to the Fairgrove Church Road Exit #128 – at the top of the exit ramp turn left.
  7. Catawba Valley Medical Center is approximately ¼ of a mile on the left.

Directions from Greensboro, NC to Catawba Valley Medical Center-Hickory NC

  1. Travel I-40 west to the Fairgrove Church Road Exit #128 – at the top of the exit ramp turn right.
  2. Catawba Valley Medical Center is approximately ¼ of a mile on the left.

Directions from Asheville, NC to Catawba Valley Medical Center-Hickory NC

  1. Travel I-40 east to the Fairgrove Church Road Exit #128 – at the top of the exit ramp turn left.
  2. Catawba Valley Medical Center is approximately ¼ of a mile on the left.
