“This is our third child,” said Bobby Hefner. “I have
experience sleeping in hospitals, and I love the new partner beds!”
The opening of the Birthing Center marks the beginning of the final move
for the Center for Women & Children. The new Level III Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU), the Catawba Valley region’s first to offer private
rooms, is slated to open in late February.
“We are so happy to bring little Payton into the world as our first
baby born in the new Patient Pavilion,” said Trish Beckman, CNM,
MPH, Administrator, Center for Women and Children. “At CVMC, we
strive to make the birthing experience joyous, safe and family centered.
The timing was perfect for the Hefners to be able to deliver in our new
modern facility that provides spacious accommodations, state-of-the-art
equipment, and our widely appreciated family centered model of care.”
