Tree of Life
The Tree of Life memorial is dedicated to cancer warriors: those who have
conquered it, those who have fought bravely but succumbed, and those who
are on the frontlines helping in the fight.
Dedicated to the memory of Claire L. Robinson, this beautiful display embraces
a sense of hope and remembrance by honoring loved ones who have engaged
in the fight against cancer.
Located on the first floor of the Pavilion, the contemporary design of
a forest of everlasting trees represents optimism for the future even
amidst the difficulties of a cancer diagnosis. The leaves of the tree
are available for inscription: six-inch platinum leaves for a donation
of $500 or six-inch gold leaves for a donation of $250. Every metal leaf
on The Tree of Life is inscribed with the name of the honored individual
and a short message.
The personalized leaves may also be used to recognize physicians, nurses
or other staff who made a difference in the fight against cancer. Gifts
are often given in the hope of a speedy recovery or to recognize special
milestones, such as birthdays.
All donations from this display are used to fund cancer initiatives including
defraying transportation costs for patients; educational programs for
patients and their families; financial help for immediate needs like drugs
and durable medical goods; and other programs in Catawba Valley Medical
Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Program.
